iPhone OpenGL ESの秘密
iPhone 採用されているOpenGL ESは２種類あります。
OpenGL ES1とES2。
SDK3.0以前はES2がなかったと思います。だからOpenGLのテンプレートを使ってプロジェクトを作成してもOpenGLのヘッダーとソースは１セットしかなかったのに、SDK3.0からソースとヘッダーが
それぞれ
ES1Renderer.h
ES1Renderer.m
ES2Renderer.h
ES2Renderer.m
となります。
ES1はiPhone 3G用でES2がiPhone 3GS、第三世代iPod Touch用となります。
ES2の機能を使わないのであればES1で問題ないようです。
ES2の機能ってなに？ってしらべてみるとES1の固定機能パイプラインの代わりにプログラマブルシェーダーが実装されてるんだそうです。
それ以上はよくわかりませんが、ソースコードをみるとES2が使えればつかうようにコードがかかれているので、気にしなくても大丈夫ではないかと思います。
iPhone 3Gと3GSでそんな違いがあったんですね。
